Whoopi Goldberg who is a staple of The View remains absent from the long-running talk show.

The Sister Act alum shared with her fans that her disappearance from the show is temporary.

Goldberg confirmed assured her fans that she will return after a short hiatus as she is currently out of country.

The Oscar-winning actress and comedian took to Instagram Story Monday to reveal that she will not appear in any of this week’s episode.

The star, who recently celebrated her 70th birthday on-air, gave rare insight into what is keeping her busy lately.

Sharing a photo from a makeup chair, she explained, “If you notice I’m not on The View this week it’s because I’m in Italy working”.

Goldberg also shared a short clip featuring the host practicing Italian while getting a manicure.

Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah carried on with their hosting duties in her absence during Monday’s episode.

Goldberg previously announced that she is filming a cameo in the Italian soap opera Un Posto Al Sole.

Calling it a ‘crazy idea’, she shared her excitement over the new venture.

Her multi-episode cameo in international acting project is expected to release next year.
