Reba McEntire and JoAnna Garcia Swisher are reuniting on TV this fall—and it turns out there’s a lot to talk about for this exciting occasion!
Fans know Reba and JoAnna played mother and daughter on Reba when it aired for six seasons from 2001 to 2007. While the duo haven’t necessarily appeared onscreen at the same time since then, they both have spoken out about how special their bond continues to be. And with the news of JoAnna guest starring on Happy’s Place season 2 on NBC, it’s only fair Reba has comments about her former co-star!
As Reba opened up to People for an interview on October 21, she’s thrilled to see JoAnna pop up on Happy’s Place season 2. What’s more, she couldn’t stop talking about how special it is to have the opportunity for JoAnna to work alongside Melissa Peterman (who also appeared on Reba) and Reba’s fiancé, Rex Linn.
“It’s just like there’s not been a day between the last time I got to work with [JoAnna],” she told the outlet. “And having Melissa Peterman on the show and Rex Linn … we are a tight knit family, an acting team, and we have so much fun together. It’s natural. Anytime I get to step on that set, I feel like home. It’s my happy place.”
Aw, we so love to see how much Reba adores JoAnna! And it’s clear the friendship continues to be a sweet spot for Reba, as she couldn’t help but gush about her onscreen daughter with Good Housekeeping back in May 2025.
“JoAnna is the biggest hearted, warm, loving, given person I’ve met,” she told us exclusively at the time. “I love her with all my heart. She should compete for who has the biggest heart in the world, and she’d win the entire competition.”
Now, as for what fans can expect from JoAnna’s upcoming appearance on Happy’s Place season 2, that’s to be determined. But needless to say, we can’t wait for her and Reba to show up on television together!
