Prince William rolled up his sleeves and shed his shoes as he fully immersed himself to get the full Brazilian beach experience: playing volleyball.
The Prince of Wales made a visit to Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro in his packed schedule for first day of engagements in Brazil, but William didn’t seem to mind at all. King Charles’s uninhibited and sporty side on display while embracing the local culture.
William had impressed with his footwork earlier in the day when he played football at the iconic Marcos Evangelista de Morais, known as Cafu at Maracana Stadium.
Hours later, he easily blended in as he played a game of beach volleyball Olympian Carol Solberg and learned how she is helping her community with the sport.
Determined, eyes on the ball, William was not afraid of diving into the sand sprinting and jumping towards the ball. He beamed with alongside his teammates and laughed freely – a rare candid side of the future king.
In a video of highlights shared by Kensington Palace, it shed light on Carol’s “amazing project” and how her work has helped “transform the lives of disadvantaged children through sport”.

Carol said that she was “really tired” of watching her city with so much social inequality hence she is using her platform to given them a space where they can feel safe to interact and make friends.
While on the beach, William also had a chance to meet emergency responders and view the safety measures taken for beach-goers.
The Prince has much more to unveil in the coming days in the build-up to the Earthshot Prize ceremony to be held on November 5.
