Kate Middleton stepped out wearing a sartorial nod to Victoria Beckham as the designer marks a major career milestone this week.
Kate visited Home-Start in Oxford on Thursday, Oct. 9 to help promote an initiative from her Centre for Early Childhood — a cartoon film series that aims to support families’ efforts to build social and emotional skills during their children’s early years. The Princess of Wales wore a striking olive green suit created by Victoria Beckham for the event with a matching green top and a gold pendant necklace.
Princess Kate is wearing the earth-toned suit on the same day the fashion designer and former Spice Girl’s revealing new Netflix docuseries, Victoria Beckham, is debuting. On Wednesday, Oct. 8, Beckham herself delivered remarks at a world premiere event for the three-part show at The Curzon Mayfair in London.
“It’s taken me this process to really be proud of what I’ve achieved and to realize finally that I am enough,” Beckham said of the docuseries during her speech.
In her three-part Netflix docuseries Victoria Beckham, Beckham opens up about everything — from her rise to fame with the iconic Spice Girls to launching her fashion label, and the intense pressures that came with both. She also reveals the personal challenges she faced, including an eating disorder.
Kate first wore the Beckham-designed ensemble in mid-May as she delivered the eighth Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design on behalf of the British Fashion Council.
Victoria Beckham and her husband, David Beckham, are longtime friends of the royal family, having been invited to several royal events, including weddings and state visits. The former soccer star was also officially named an ambassador for King Charles’s charity, The King’s Foundation, in June 2024.
As PEOPLE has previously reported, the “Kate effect” often leads fans of the Princess of Wales’ style to immediately snap up the pieces she is spotted wearing, leading them to sell out quickly.
“I think she looks much more modern in the way she dresses now,” Petar Petrov an Austrian-based designer who created a chocolate brown blazer Princess Kate wore in February told PEOPLE. “She looks relaxed, and I think she can win the hearts of people even more because she feels like a real person that people can connect with, like Princess Diana. That’s special and makes her even more relevant than ever.”
His jacket, worn by Kate, sold out within 24 hours.
