Iconic Texas musician Willie Nelson has released a new Christmas song ahead of the holiday season.
His “Christmas Love Song” dropped Friday on music streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and the iTunes store.

The Christmas single comes out ahead of his new studio album, “Workin’ Man: Willie Sings Merle,” on Nov. 7. The album features Nelson’s interpretations of 11 classic songs written by another Country icon Merle Haggard.
At 92, Texas-born Nelson continues to turn out new music and was in The Woodlands in July with the Outlaw Music Festival.
This Christmas tune was released by Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, according to a news release from Shock Ink.
The song was written by Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Anderson along with songwriters Bobby Tomberlin and Marv Green, according to the release. Buddy Cannon produces with Mickey Raphael on harmonica. The song also features guitar and jingle bells.

The chorus includes:
“It ain’t a lot but every word of it’s true
It don’t sparkle or shine
But it’s one of a kind
And I put my whole heart into
This Christmas love song to you”
Nelson was born in a small town outside of Waco in 1933. He’s also a U.S. Air Force veteran and once studied farming and agriculture at Baylor University, the Houston Chronicle reported.
“On the Road Again,” “Always on My Mind,” “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” “Whiskey River,” and “Georgia on My Mind” are among his hits.
He also found success with his 1979 Christmas album “Pretty Paper”. The album featured a cover of “Pretty Paper” first made a hit by Roy Orbison in the 1960s.
