The Voice Introduced Some Major Changes This Season…
Season 28 has been a season of change for The Voice. The show introduced multiple new rules and elements this season, starting in the blind auditions.
Host Carson Daly got to use his new “Carson Callback” power to give a no-chair turn contestant a second chance during the blind auditions. He used his callback on a young singer named Ryan Mitchell, who managed to land a spot on Team Reba after his second audition.

Another change occurred in the battles, as contestants were allowed to choose their own duet partners. The coaches chose the pairings in previous seasons.
Then, during the knockouts, the coaches demonstrated their new “Mic Drop” buttons. Each coach had the opportunity to press the button for one contestant on their team. Once all four contestants are selected, fans will have the power to vote for their favorite. The winner will get to sing during the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day, even if they don’t win The Voice itself.
