An announcement that Sen. John Fetterman would appear as a guest on ABC’s “The View” drew an angry boo from an audience member Monday, the day after the Dem voted with GOPers to try to end the government shutdown.
“Senator John Fetterman will be here tomorrow,” show co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced on-air — to which one irked audience member responded, “Boo!”

Goldberg appeared to shoot a glare at the person before continuing, “So we’re going to ask [Fetterman], ‘What the hell?’ What is going on,’ and maybe we’ll get an answer.”
The Senate took its first step Sunday night to help end the longest government shutdown in US history, voting to put the lid on debate over a proposed bipartisan deal that would keep the government funded through Jan. 30. After debating ends, a proposal can be voted on.
Fetterman, a moderate from Pennsylvania, was one of eight senators who broke with their party to advance the Republicans’ plan for reopening the government.
Six other Democrat senators and Democrat-affiliated independent Sen. Angus King of Maine voted in favor of pushing forward with the deal to end the nation’s longest government shutdown, which began Oct. 1.
The move drew backlash from other Democrats and progressives, who have vowed to oppose the measure until it includes additional health-care subsidies to prevent insurance premiums from skyrocketing.

“To my mind, this was a very, very bad vote,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent who caucuses with Democrats.
But Fetterman posted to X on Sunday, “After 40 days as a consistent voice against shutting our government down, I voted YES for the 15th time to REOPEN.
“I’m sorry to our military, SNAP recipients, gov workers, and Capitol Police who haven’t been paid in weeks. It should’ve never come to this. This was a failure,” he wrote.
Both the Senate and House could vote to pass the proposal this week.
President Trump said Monday that he would abide by the terms of a deal ending the ongoing shutdown.
He added that Republicans will also pursue a new plan to replace expiring health-insurance subsidies that triggered the funding lapse.
Fetterman will appear as a guest on “The View” on Tuesday. The show airs from 11 a.m. to noon on ABC.
