PRINCE Harry’s rift with his family is far from over and William will hate that his brother met the King, an expert has claimed.
Royal commentator Daisy McAndrew made the remarks appearing on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, alongside the paper’s legendary photographer Arthur Edwards.
Speaking about the rift within the Royal Family to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, she said: “I think this is an ongoing problem.”
Matt then commented about the rift being “only kind of one-sided really. It’s Harry that’s lobbed the complaints rather than the other way around.”
Ms McAndrew then added: “But it’s also William who doesn’t want anything to do with Harry.”
She continued: “I think we’ve both said it’s early days, but this is the beginning, potentially…
“Well, baby steps. And also, I still think that William’s a big problem. As in, I don’t blame him at all.
“I don’t mean that in a derogatory way.
“But certainly my impression is he doesn’t feel comfortable with this rift being fixed and he, I don’t think, would have wanted this meeting to have gone ahead.
“My impression is that he just thinks Harry’s too much trouble and he doesn’t want anything to do with him and he would rather the King didn’t as well.
“So he’s going to have to be brought onside if they’re going to fix this
Mr Edwards agreed that repairing Harry’s reputation and the relationship with his brother would be “difficult”.
King is following in late Queen’s footsteps by stoically meeting Harry despite all the damage he’s done
He said: “Well, that’s going to be difficult. That’s going to be hard.
“That’s going to be difficult. But listen, who knows what’s around the corner?
“He might suddenly come and live here permanently, Harry, and then we’ll be saying, oh, that’d be brilliant.
“But it’s the start. As Daisy said, put the ointment on the wound and just see if it works.”
The comments come after the Duke of Sussex, 40, met with his father, King Charles, for a private tea reunion at Clarence House.
Harry had not seen his father since he flew back for 30 minutes last February, after the King’s cancer announcement.
The reunion lasted just 55 minutes but was almost double the 30 minute meeting the King gave Harry last year.
The Sun previously exclusively revealed Harry was travelling to the UK this week without knowing if was going to visit his father – but was willing to meet him if he was invited.
He has barely spoken to his family since Megxit in 2020, which saw him and Meghan step down as working royals and move to the US.
The Duke then slated the royals in his memoir Spare, including claiming he was knocked to the ground in a fight with William.
He also dumped on his family in a six-part Netflix series and Oprah Winfrey interview.
King Charles’ and Prince Harry’s senior aides reportedly held a secret summit in July aiming to resolve the bitter royal feud.
The private meeting – held at a London private members’ club – was hailed as the first step towards a “rapprochement process” between Harry, 40, and the rest of the Royal Family, sources claim.
Last month, though Newsweek’s Chief Royal Correspondent, Jack Royston, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want more than just reconciliation.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show at the start of August, he claimed: “I think the reason behind it is fundamentally because Harry had a clear-out, and Meghan had a clear-out of their PR team on both sides of the Atlantic.
“They brought new people in who have come with new energy and a real determination to move the dial in terms of public opinion, move the dial in terms of media coverage of the Sussexes, and, that comes with it, move the dial in terms of the relationship with the palace.”
