SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb may be a two-time All-Star, but he also has two all-star superfans who never miss a game.
Logan’s two grandmothers, Patty and Jane, are roommates, best friends and his biggest fans.
They both have been cheering him on since his first game, about 100 miles away in Rocklin, California. Jan even remembers throwing to him at three years old. When Logan was in Little League and travel ball, Patty and Jan even used to bring the coaches muffins and coffee during practice.
But 17 years ago, Patty and Jan’s relationship transformed under unfortunate circumstances. Their husbands, Al and Jerry, both passed away within nine months of each other.

That’s when Patty had an idea.
“So I said, ‘Why don’t you just stay? Why don’t you just move in?'” she said.
Nearly two decades later, these roommates say their entire lives now revolve around the Giants, which was already their favorite team. When Logan was pitching in the Minors, they took a road trip to Oregon to see him play.
And of course, they were in the stands when Logan made his MLB debut.
They love to send him texts before his starts, but they might not be the usual messages from Grandma.
“I send him some GIFs, and I tell him, kick a**, baby, kick a**,” Patty said.
In a recent interview, the 28-year-old pitcher told mlb.com, “I would say they’re my biggest fans, they’ve been my biggest fans for a long time.”
You could argue that as much as Patty and Jane are fans of Logan, they’re equally gigantic fans of each other.
“I mean, we’re like sisters. We really are in a lot of ways,” Jan said.
