Authorities have positively identified a body found in a forest preserve last month in Illinois as that of a 46-year-old mother who went missing in late July.

On Monday, Sept. 8, the DuPage County Coroner’s Office announced that remains found on Aug. 14 in the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve were confirmed to belong to Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede, from Naperville, Ill.

Officials made the identification via dental records, but Abosede’s cause and manner of death are still pending.

“Our condolences go out to Sinmi Abosede’s family. It is distressing when a loved one goes missing, and the prolonged period of waiting for identification must be further heartrending,” the coroner’s office said. “We are hopeful that the family can now begin healing.

“Sinmi’s family wishes to thank everyone in the community for the remarkable support they showed throughout the difficult times since the day she went missing,” the coroner continued. “Words cannot begin to express their gratitude. They are comforted by cherished memories of Sinmi as a wonderful wife, mother, family member and friend to so many.”

Earlier this summer, the Naperville Police Department said Abosede was last seen around 9:20 a.m. local time on July 30 walking away from her home in the area. She was reported missing the same day.

Days later, on Aug. 4, police conducted a systematic search of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve with assistance from the Naperville Emergency Management Agency and other local law enforcement. Forty trained volunteers, K9 teams and drone operators participated, but they were unable to locate her that day.

Less than two weeks later, on Aug. 14, the Naperville Police Department announced authorities were called to a trailhead in the preserve after a body was discovered.

“Officers arrived on scene and were led through a dense area of high grass to the body,” police said at the time. “The clothing of the deceased matched the clothing that Olasinmibo ‘Sinmi’ Abosede was last seen wearing. At this time we continue to believe that no foul play is suspected.”

In the Aug. 14 statement, Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said officials believed the individual to be Abosede, but the DuPage County Coroner’s Office needed to make the final confirmation.

“We are deeply saddened by this loss and extend our sincere condolences to the Abosede family during this difficult time,” Chief Arres said.

In August, officials said the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Police was leading the death investigation in collaboration with the Naperville Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing, a spokesperson for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County tells PEOPLE.

“At this stage, there continues to be no indication of foul play, and there is no threat to the community,” the spokesperson added.

Abosede was a wife and mother of four, ABC affiliate WLS previously reported, adding that her family had asked for assistance in determining her whereabouts in August.

“Her love, unwavering faith in God and devotion to our children have been the foundation of our family,” Olasinmibo’s husband Gbenga Abosede, said at the time, per the station. “She’s a gem of a woman.”

Naperville’s St. Raphael Catholic Church, where Abosede was a parishioner, called her a “devoted sister of Christ,” and added after the discovery of her body that the church’s “thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
