The Chicago Sky have finalized their 2025 WNBA roster after making their final training camp cuts.
On Sunday, the team announced that three players—Alex Wilson, Jessika Carter, and Morgan Bertsch—were cut. 12 players remain on the roster with WNBA opening night just a few days away.
The cuts mean that 2025 draftees Hailey Van Lith (selected 11th overall) and Maddy Westbeld (selected 16th) are in good shape to make the final roster.
Sky cut Alex Wilson, Jessika Carter, and Morgan Bertsch
Alex Wilson is an Australian basketball player who has played overseas since 2010. The 31-year-old guard was named to the All-WNBL First Team in 2025, and has never played in the WNBA.
Jessika Carter is a 6’5 center drafted by the New York Liberty in 2024. Carter spent her collegiate career at Mississippi State, averaging 11.4 points and 7.4 rebounds.
After a college career at UC Davis, Morgan Bertsch was drafted by the Dallas Wings with the 29th overall pick in 2019. Bertsch, a 6’4 forward, has had stints with the Wings, Chicago Sky, and Phoenix Mercury. Her most extensive WNBA opportunity came in 2023, when she averaged 14.2 minutes across 28 games.
12 players remain on the Chicago Sky’s final roster
After their latest round of cuts, the Sky have 12 players remaining on their training camp roster. Teams can carry up to 12 players, but most opt to have 11 on their roster.
