The 59th CMA Awards Just Revealed Its Opening Acts — and Country Fans Are Losing Their Minds. WN

The countdown to Country Music’s Biggest Night is officially on. The Country Music Association have announced the first round of performers set to take the stage at The 59th Annual CMA Awards, promising a mix of fresh faces, powerhouse voices, and unforgettable collaborations.

This year’s lineup includes BigXthaPlug, Luke Combs, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Shaboozey, Zach Top, Tucker Wetmore, Lainey Wilson, and Stephen Wilson Jr. showcasing a blend of country’s current chart toppers and fast rising newcomers.

The show will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 19, 8:00pm ET on ABC, with streaming available the next day on Hulu.

Returning to host for her second consecutive year, Wilson has received six nominations for this year’s awards and is the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. Wilson will open the show with a fiery performance that sets the tone for the night. Combs, a three-time nominee, will deliver his latest hit Back in the Saddle, while Langley who has also a received six nods will perform her latest release Choosin’ Texas.

Moroney, who took home CMA New Artist of the Year in 2023, returns to the stage with fan favourite 6 Months Later. Fellow nominees Top and Wetmore will each bring their own signature energy with Guitar and Wind Up Missin’ You, respectively, while Wilson Jr. will deliver his emotional take of Stand By Me originally performed by Ben E. King.

Fans can also expect some major collaborations: BigXthaPlug joins Combs for a performance of their track Pray Hard, while Shaboozey will team up with Wilson Jr. for Took A Walk, featured in the new film The Long Walk, based on Stephen King’s 1979 novel.

Additional performers and presenters will be revealed in the coming weeks, but if this first lineup is anything to go by, the 59th CMA Awards are shaping up to be one of the most electric nights in awards show history.
