Prince Harry and Prince William could be in for awkward reunion next week. It was announced earlier today that the Duchess of Kent passed away on Thursday evening at the age of 92.

Harry, who has been at loggerheads with the royals for some time, is set to travel to the UK to attend the WellChild Awards on September 8 – but it remains unknown if he will be present at the late royal’s funeral. The 40-year-old will be travelling to the UK on his own, with Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet, set to remain in California.

It has been reported that the Duchess of Kent is expected to have a Catholic funeral in a week’s time.

Many, if not all, members of the Royal Family are set to be in attendance, including non-working royals such as Prince Andrew.

With Harry set to be in the UK next week, it has been questioned whether he will extend his trip to attend the funeral. If he were to attend, Harry would likely be reunited with his brother, Prince William.

The Duchess of Kent is known to have been very close to their late mum, Princess Diana – with the pair often seen sat together at royal events and Wimbledon.

During his visit next week, Harry will be present at the WellChild Awards ceremony for the 15th time.

Set to be held at an undisclosed venue, Harry continues his role as the charity’s patron – a position that he has held for 17 years.

The Prince and Princess of Wales released a loving tribute to the Duchess of Kent today.
