Teddi Mellencamp Says ‘the Cancer’s Gone’

  • Teddi Mellencamp shared a major life update on her podcast Two T’s in a Pod
  • Mellencamp told fellow Real Housewives star Dolores Catania that even though she got positive health news from the doctor, she still has to continue treatment
  • Mellencamp, whose cancer struggle began in 2022, said the news left her “in such shock”

Teddi Mellencamp said that her stage 4 cancer is “gone,” amid an ongoing health struggle that began in 2022 and ended up with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

“Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I did my scans and at this point there is no detectable cancer,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 44, told co-host Dolores Catania, 54, over video chat during the Oct. 3 episode of the podcast Mellencamp usually cohosts with Tamra Judge, Two T’s in a Pod.

“Oh, I’m so happy!” Catania said — joking that even though they were supposed to recap the newest episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, “How am I supposed to carry on after this? F— the episode … I wish i could hug you. I love you. Thank you for telling me that. It took my breath away.”

Mellencamp said, “When they told me, I was in such shock. I was like, numb.”

But her struggle isn’t over, she explained, “I’m still going to be having days when I’m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy, so I’m still fighting because you have to be.”

She said that she will continue immunotherapy for a year, adding, “I’m not considered in remission or anything like that.”

She explained further: “The way the [doctors] said it works, it’s like one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered … in remission. So, but that was huge news yesterday.”

She had previously shared that doctors have given her a “50/50” chance of survival for her struggle with cancer, which began in 2022 with stage 2 melanoma — the deadliest form of skin cancer — on her back. She has since undergone 17 surgeries for the invasive skin cancer. But in April 2025, Mellencamp shared that her cancer had metastasized to her brain and lungs. She’s undergone immunotherapy, radiation and surgery to treat the tumors.

“You did it, girl,” Catania said. “You did it. You didn’t give up one day. You fought harder than anybody I know. That’s such good news. I’m so happy.”

Catania asked if her children — she shares Slate, 13,  Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5, with ex Edwin Arroyave — know, but Mellencamp said only Slate “really understands.” Mellencamp went on to say she had to skip one of her equestrian daughter’s competitions, explaining, “people think just because the cancer’s gone that I can’t still get sick or whatever but I’m still in treatment, so I still have a compromised immune system. So, I have to still to be careful.”

Mellencamp said that doctors told her “all the tumors continued to shrink and everything, so it’s been good.”

“It’s good day until we have to recap Real Housewives of Orange County,” Mellencamp quipped.

“Do we really have to muddy up this news?” Catania joked, prompting Mellencamp to laugh. “Just, f—— call it a day right now.”
