Prince Harry is not here for sources spilling on his recent meeting with King Charles. As a reminder, the duo met face-to-face for the first time in over a year, having a casual tea during Harry’s recent trip to England. And there have been a lot of reports about what they talked about—including one from The Sun who described the meeting as “distinctly formal.”

The outlet went on to claim that Harry felt more like an “official visitor” than a family member, that there are no plans for him and King Charles to reunite in public, and that Harry gave his dad a framed photo.

So…what’s the truth? Helpfully, Harry went ahead and released a rare statement via his spokesperson, accusing sources of trying to sabotage him.

“Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false,” a spokesperson said. “The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged.”

Harry’s spokesperson did, however, confirm that a framed photo was given to Charles, clarifying, “While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”
