  • Sean “Diddy” Combs was allegedly caught drinking homemade alcohol in prison, according to a report from TMZ
  • Combs’ spokesperson addressed the report in a statement to PEOPLE, saying, in part, that “he has not violated any prison rules” and that “his sobriety and self-discipline are priorities”
  • The Nov. 7 report comes shortly after Combs was transferred from MDC in Brooklyn to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ spokesperson is responding to the report that the disgraced music mogul was allegedly caught drinking homemade alcohol in prison, not long after he was relocated to a different facility.

According to a report TMZ published Friday, Nov. 7, Combs — who is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix) in New Jersey — was caught drinking a concoction made from Fanta soda, sugar and apples, which is then left to ferment for two weeks.

The outlet also reported that officials considered moving Combs, 56, to a new unit after he was caught with the substance, but ultimately decided to let him stay put.

Combs’ spokesperson reacted to the report in a statement to PEOPLE.

“There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs,” the spokesperson says. “He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.”

“This is only his first week at FCI Fort Dix, and unfortunately, rumors will surface throughout his time there,” the statement continues. “We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth, and the grace to move forward in peace.”

A statement shared to Combs’ official X account on Saturday, Nov. 8, echoed this statement, calling the report “completely false.”

“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family,” the statement reads.

In October, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in July.

He was transferred from Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn (MDC), where he had been held since his 2024 arrest, to FCI Fort Dix on Oct. 30. The following day, the first photo of Combs in prison was released, picturing the disgraced music mogul in the yard of the facility.

The musician’s legal team requested that he be transferred from MDC to the New Jersey facility, a low‑security prison located on a military base about 40 miles outside Philadelphia.

They complained about the conditions at MDC, and specifically requested Fort Dix because it has better access to drug rehabilitation programs.

“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix,” Combs’ attorney, Teny Geragos, wrote at the time.

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, who sentenced Combs, has recommended that Combs be considered for any available substance‑abuse program.
