It has been reported that Prince Harry has registered his son, Prince Archie, at Eton College, in a major bombshell UK move. Unlike his sister Princess Lilibet, the young royal was born in the UK on May 6, 2019, and spent his earliest days living at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Harry and his elder brother Prince William both began attending Eton in the 1990s – with Harry previously opening up about his good and bad memories of his days at the prestigious school. One of Harry’s old schoofriends has now exclusively revealed that the royal has registered his six-year-old son at the school – despite him currently living in California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the US in 2020, a year after welcoming Archie in the UK. The couple have since welcomed a second child whilst living in the US.

Speaking to The Royalist, the friend said: “It’s no longer strictly necessary to put your kids’ names down at birth, but Harry has put Archie down.

“It’s fair to say he had mixed feelings about the school when he left, but looking back on it, he can appreciate the good.”

They added: “For William and Harry, Eton is really the only sensible choice when it comes to British schools, because of security. There are so many high-profile and politically exposed kids there that the whole school has ridiculous security provisions already.

“It’s seven-day boarding, lots of kids fly back and forth at the beginning and end of term, so why shouldn’t Archie? The school certainly wouldn’t be prejudiced against him.

“Statistically, you have to imagine Eton would be a hell of a lot safer than an American school thanks to their gun laws.”

Harry has previously spoken openly about his fears about bringing his children back to the UK. After visiting the UK earlier this month, the royal revealed that he is now potentially open to the idea of bringing his son and daughter to his home country.

He told the Guardian earlier this month: “This week has definitely brought that closer.”
