Fans of the classic hit sitcom Reba and its spiritual successor, Happy’s Place, are very happy today, as the star of both shows, Reba McEntire, announced that JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who played Cheyenne Hart Montgomery on Reba, is joining the popular new show.
McEntire shared a new video on Instagram on Sept. 30, which showed her and fellow Happy’s Place and Reba main cast member, Melissa Peterman, opening a literal door to let Garcia Swisher in before embracing her and smiling at the camera.
Text over the clip read, “JoAnna reunites with Reba as a guest star on Happy’s Place!” while McEntire added in the caption of the post, “Dream guest star unlocked. 😍 JoAnna Garcia Swisher is joining #HappysPlace! Returning Nov 7 8/7c | NBC and Peacock.”
The announcement didn’t include any details about Garcia Swisher’s character, how long she’ll appear on the show, or anything else.
Fans are already raving about the big news, sharing their excitement in the comments.
“I COULD SCREAM!!!! OMG!!! IM SO EXCITED!! 😭🙌🏻,” said one fan, while others wrote, “That is so exciting. Another Reba Reunion❤️❤️,” and “I’ve been patiently waiting & hoping for this! Yay!!!!!!”
More thrilled replies included, “Yay Reba Cheyenne and Barbra Jean back together again,” and “The best reunion 🔥🔥🔥.”
“All we need is jake!!” said another, referring to the character played by Mitch Holleman in the original series.
Garcia Swisher’s appearance on Happy’s Place isn’t a huge surprise, as only last month, the actress told Parade about the possibility of joining the show, “No doubt. If they were to ask me to do it, I would 100 percent be there and I would move mountains to do it.”
Happy’s Place will return for the highly anticipated second season with the first episode on Nov. 7, on NBC. Along with McEntire and Peterman, the show also stars Belissa Escobedo, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and more. Other Reba stars have also made appearances, such as Steve Howey and Christopher Rich.
Fans should mark their calendars now so they don’t miss Garcia Swisher’s debut on the show.
