Reba McEntire is right where she belongs as Happy’s Place returns with its new season on Friday, Nov. 7.
The country icon says stepping onto the NBC comedy’s set instantly feels familiar, describing it as the place where she’s most at ease.
“It’s natural. Anytime I get to step on that set, I feel like home. It’s my happy place,” McEntire, 70, told PEOPLE.

This season is extra special for her, not just because she’s back as Bobbie, but because she gets to share the experience with her fiancé, Rex Linn.
The pair became engaged last December, and working together has added a new layer of joy to their relationship. She shared how much she loves their routine, driving to set together, rehearsing, and even discussing scenes on the way home.
For her, that kind of shared work experience is something new and meaningful.
On set, their bond shows up in the little things too, whether they’re eating in her dressing room or grabbing breakfast side-by-side at the bar.
She laughed that Linn often copies her meal choices. If she orders oatmeal, so does he.

Season 2 also brings another reunion close to McEntire’s heart.
JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who played her daughter on Reba, returns to work with her again. McEntire said the cast has become a tight-knit group, and she loves how much fun they have together.
Melissa Peterman, also from the Reba era and now part of Happy’s Place, shared that reuniting is rare in their industry, so they’re savoring every moment.
McEntire’s character Bobbie is still balancing life’s challenges while running her late father’s tavern. The new season promises fresh twists, especially with a long-hidden secret set to shake up the bar and test the relationships inside it.
Through all the ups and downs, Bobbie tries to remind her circle that family isn’t just about blood, it’s about the people who stand by you, even at work.
As for what fans can expect, McEntire teased that nothing is as straightforward as it looks.
“Where you think it’s going, it’s not. So stay tuned,” she said with a smile.
Happy’s Place Season 2 airs Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
