Princess Catherine is said to be rattled by a bold move from Meghan Markle, who has reportedly set her sights on the royal’s former aide and trusted confidante, Natasha Archer.
Princess Catherine is reportedly “deeply unsettled” over Meghan Markle’s alleged bid to hire Natasha Archer, the Princess’ former assistant and one of her closest friends, to help rebrand her lifestyle empire.
Natasha ‘Tash’ Archer, 37, stepped down in July after 15 years as Catherine’s right-hand woman, ending an era that saw her dubbed the brains behind ‘The Kate Middleton Effect’.
Archer first joined the royal household in 2007, guiding the Princess’ wardrobe, public image, and even supporting her through pregnancies and recent cancer battle.
She left the palace to launch her own luxury styling consultancy, positioning herself as a go-to for elite clients.
While the palace warmly wished Tash “the very best for the exciting opportunities ahead” fresh reports claim Meghan has already targeted the mother-of-two to bolster her As Ever lifestyle label.
On Tuesday, a palace insider told RadarOnline that the news has left Catherine shaken.
“For Kate this isn’t just about work- it’s personal,” the source said.
“The thought of Meghan moving in on someone so central to her life feels like the deepest betrayal. She (Kate)’s genuinely afraid Natasha could be tempted away and used against her, and could spill her secrets to Meghan.”
Another insider added that Meghan had long envied the bond between Catherine and her aide.
“Natasha was the behind-the-scenes force who helped shape Kate’s image into something regal yet approachable, and Meghan knew it,” they said.
Since leaving the palace, Archer has made her Instagram account public and unfollowed both Meghan and her As Ever brand.
But Markle, 44, is said to be “undeterred” and has already extended a generous offer to Natasha to join her team.
A Hollywood source claimed: “The offer’s already been floated- come to Montecito, work closely with her, and earn twice the usual fee,” they said.
“…Meghan is laser-focused on her brand. She recognises Natasha’s value and is prepared to spend big to secure her.”
Much like the fraught relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry, tensions between their wives remain strained.
Meghan and Catherine last saw each other at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022- the Duchess’ last known visit to the UK.
