In the Prince of Wales’ recent candid interview on Eugene Levy’s Apple TV series, The Reluctant Traveler, William showed the Schitt’s Creek star around Windsor Castle, though he admitted that he was perhaps not the most qualified tour guide.

“If you want to know about history, I’m not the guy,” the prince, 43, admitted.

“Actually, George, my son, is way better in history than I am. I have to check with him now on my dates,” William added. “I think I probably need some history lessons… I could do with that.”

Prince William shares George, as well as Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, with his wife, Kate Middleton.

During the episode, William admitted to Levy that he tends to think more about family problems than the weight of his future crown.

“I think stuff to do with family overwhelms me quite a bit,” he said on The Reluctant Traveler. “With time and age, I think you feel a bit more settled in [the royal business] side of things, and you go, ‘Actually, I can do that.’ And even if a few curve balls come in, that doesn’t necessarily overwhelm me.”

“When it’s to do with family and things like that, then that’s where I start getting a bit overwhelmed – as I think most people would, because it’s more personal, it’s more about feeling, it’s more about upsetting the rhythm, if you like,” he added.

The royal heir told Levy that he knows that “tradition has a huge part in all of this,” but he also admitted that, as he nears the throne, he’s willing to question the old guard in order to have the most positive impact possible.

“I like a little bit of change,” he added. “I think if you’re not careful, history can be a real weight and an anchor around you, and you can feel suffocated by it, and restricted by it too much.”

Despite his royal responsibilities, the Prince of Wales has made a point to be a hands-on father, taking his kids to Taylor Swift concerts, Wimbledon appearances and more.

He’s even recruited Prince George into his football fandom, despite the fact that his favored club, Aston Villa, isn’t always a perennial favorite.

Prince William began supporting the team — who are ranked towards the bottom of the Premier League so far this season — when he got “big into football” in school. He told the BBC’s Gary Lineker before the 2015 FA Cup that his choice to cheer for the “Villans” rather than one of the more popular clubs was based on a need to go against the norm.

“All my friends at school were either Man[chester] United fans or Chelsea fans, and I didn’t want to follow the run-of-the-mill teams,” the prince explained. “I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments.”

As George has grown up, he and his father have attended several games together, including a special outing to the two-part Champions League quarterfinal in April 2025, when the pair attended the away game at Paris Saint-Germain before returning to Villa Park for the conclusion.

While Aston Villa ultimately lost the quarterfinal with an aggregate score of 5-4, William’s memories with his son made the stressful matches more than worth it.

“I thought, it’s been 43 years since anything like this has happened in my generation as a Villa fan, and I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition,” the Prince of Wales told TNT Sports at the time. “I hope it’s not 43 years until the next time it happens, but I think those memories are really important to create and to bring him along tonight is a big deal for me.”
