Andrew was reportedly “dismissive” to a royal butler and was the only member of the Royal Family not to have a “conversation” with him, a former Palace staff member has said. Grant Harrold was a royal butler for King Charles, when he was The Prince of Wales, between 2004 and 2011.
During this time, Mr Harrold worked at various royal events and attended some socially as a guest too, including the King’s wedding to the now Queen Camilla in 2005. While he had good relationships with many royals, Mr Harrold said that Andrew was not one of these.

While the former prince, who had his titles taken away formerly this week as a result of ongoing scandals, was not “rude” to Mr Harrold when he was a butler, he was reportedly “dismissive”.

Speaking about his experiences with Andrew on GB News, Mr Harrold said: “The character that I remember unfortunately was never rude to me but he was quite kind of dismissive because I was there as a butler.
“There was never any kind of conversation. He was the only royal I never had any kind of conversation with, even in a social situation.”
He continued: “Because you were staff he wouldn’t speak to you, he was always very kind of dismissive, he was never rude.”

Mr Harrold is reportedly not the only staff member to feel this way about Andrew.
Royal author Andrew Lownie wrote in his book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, that he was told by a source how Andrew’s attitude was that his staff were “there to serve and not to question his actions”.
In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Paul Page – who worked with the Royal Family as a police protection officer from 1998 to 2004 – also said Andrew had the nickname of “the c**t”.
He explained: “He was just rude, arrogant. I mean his sense of self entitlement was breathtaking. He treated staff in a demeaning manner.”
