Spoiler alert! Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé, and Niall Horan decide which of their teammates will make it through the Battles for Season 28.
Key Points
- Teams self-paired for battles; coaches used limited Steals and Saves.
- Advancing artists included Aiden Ross, Max Chambers, Kirbi, and Carolina Rodriguez (via Steal).
- Celebrity advisors this season: Kelsea Ballerini, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, and Nick Jonas.
Night 3 of Season 28’s The Voice Battles continued on Monday night with coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Niall Horan determining which of their paired teammates will make it through to the Knockouts and which went home.
The twist this season is that the 12 artists on each team decide who they will Battle rather than the coaches pairing them up. But the coaches do make the final decision as to who stays.
That said, each coach has one Steal and one Save this season. On night one, Snoop used his Save on Natalia Albertini, and Michael used his on Trinity. Reba, on the other hand, used her Steal on Austin Gilbert. On night two, Niall used his Steal on Sadie Dahl and Reba used her Save to keep Aubrey Nicole on her team. On night three, Niall used his Save for Ava Nat, and Snoop used his Steal for Carolina Rodriguez. That means that Michael has the last remaining Steal going into night four.
This season, celebrity advisors have returned for the Battles. Kelsea Ballerini is assisting Team Bublé, Lewis Capaldi is tutoring Team Niall, Lizzo is guiding Team Snoop, and Nick Jonas is instructing Team Reba.

Battle Round 1: Lauren Anderson vs Makenzie Phipps from Team Snoop
Song: “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood
Winner: Lauren Anderson
Snoop said: “Lauren and Makenzie, my two country girls. They really performed to the highest level. What I loved about Lauren’s performance was how she could go to another notch. I felt like Lauren had a little more experience to get her to the finals.”
Battle Round 2: Aarik Duncan vs Max Chambers from Team Bublé
Song: “Just the Two of Us” by Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers
Winner: Max Chambers
Michael said: “Aarik vs Max was one of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make. Max has the ability and the potential literally to become a star. There really wasn’t another choice for me to make.”
Battle Round 3: Aiden Ross (four-chair turn) vs Ava Nat from Team Niall
Song: “What a Time” by Julia Michaels & Niall Horan
Winner: Aiden Ross
Niall said: “What a performance. I’m still blown away by it. It was such a hard decision. Aiden’s level of consistency is something you always want on your team. I don’t think there’s a doubt he could go all the way in this competition.”
But Ava isn’t going anywhere. Niall pressed his Save button to keep her on his team and Snoop tried to Steal her.
Save: Ava Nat
Niall said: “I had to use my Save. I love Ava’s voice. I love her ability to tell a story. She does it simply better than anyone on the show. I can’t wait to work with her again.”
Battle Round 4: Leyton Robinson vs Manny Costello from Team Reba
Song: “Think I’m In Love With You” by Chris Stapleton
Winner: Leyton Robinson
Reba said: “Leyton and Manny are two of my favorites. I absolutely love them. I chose Leyton because I think I can help her. I am so impressed with her vocals, and I want to give her some songs that really challenge her and I think she’ll rise to the occasion.”

Battle Round 5: Vinya Chhabra vs Conrad Khalil from Team Reba
Song: “It Takes Two” by Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston
Winner: Conrad Khalil
Reba said: “Conrad was a one-chair turn for me, but he’s grown so much in this process. His voice is great, and I think he will continue to grow and improve.
Battle Round 6: Mindy Miller vs Emmanuel Rey from Team Snoop
Song: “Angel from Montgomery” by John Prine
Winner: Mindy Miller
Snoop said: “Emmanuel and Mindy, it was a tough decision but I felt like I had to go with Mindy because she is to me what The Voice show was built on, a phenomenal guitarist, singer, songwriter, a great voice and a great spirit that backs that voice.”
Battle Round 7: Carolina Rodriguez vs Kirbi (four-chair turn) from Team Niall
Song: “You Say” by Lauren Daigle
Winner: Kirbi
Niall said: “This is where I wish we had two Saves. I was really struggling. Kirbi just gave me that level of emotion that I really wanted from the song. She is one of the greater storytellers in the competition. That’s what it came down to.”
But Carolina isn’t going anywhere. Snoop pressed his Steal button.
Steal: Carolina Rodriguez
Snoop said: “The thing I loved about Carolina most was her growth between hearing her on the Blinds and now. She sounded 20 times different. It took a few tries but Carolina found her way home to Team Snoop.”
