Jelly Roll showcased his musical talents when he covered Miley Cyrus’ song “Flowers” during a visit to BBC Radio 1 last week. The country music star put his own twist on the hit single and received praise from fans on social media.
“Ima need this whole thing, thank you,” one person wrote.
“This is awesome,” someone else said.
“Never in my life did I think I would hear Jelly Roll cover Flowers, but honestly, I’m glad that I did, bro killed it lol,” a third comment read.
“Incredible,” a fourth Instagram user added.
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, recently wrapped up an international tour, visiting some countries overseas and down under for the first time in his career. He was saddened to have to cancel his very last show in New Zealand on Saturday, Nov. 8 due to illness.
“Dear Auckland, I’ve done everything I can, I just can’t shake it. It breaks my heart, I’ve probably missed 3 shows in the last decade. I pride myself on showing up no matter what. Just couldn’t do it this time. Please forgive me,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories.
He has a show on Nov. 15 in Mexico City and then doesn’t have anything scheduled on his website until New Year’s Eve. The “Liar” singer is set to ring in the new year with a show at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan.
