Meghan Markle has been supportive of Prince Harry’s long-awaited reunion with his father King Charles, an insider has said. Just last month, The Duke of Sussex met with the monarch for a private tea at Clarence House, marking their first face-to-face meeting since February 2024.
While their relationship has not always been easy, it is believed Harry and the King are slowly healing their rift, with Harry’s wife Meghan Markle supportive of this.
This is despite the fact Meghan, 44, has criticised Harry’s royal relatives in the past, and is believed to have not seen them since her last UK visit in September 2022.
An insider told Page Six: “Meghan knows that Harry won’t be returning to royal duties, but on a human, personal level, [she wants for him to be] able to get on good terms with his father.
While the King and Harry seem to building bridges in their relationship, with Harry telling The Guardian just weeks ago that his focus over the coming year would be his dad, this may not last long.

This is because Harry has written to the Home Office to request a risk assessment regarding his safety in the UK.
While this is not a court case, Harry’s bid may bring to light once more to the security matters he has fought for before.
It is believed this was a sensitive matter for the King, who as monarch cannot – and should not – get involved, as Harry had previously told the BBC that he felt his father could have resolved the issue.
The King has not commented on his son’s latest security bid, however it is believed he may be feeling wary about the situation.
