Folks who stopped in recently at Raising Cane’s in Athens, Georgia might have thought they were seeing things, but … nope, that was in fact country music star Megan Moroney slinging chicken boxes behind the counter.
Of course, per Whiskey Riff, many of Moroney’s fans knew she was slated to appear that the location about 24 hours in advance, and some even drove from as many as six hours to get a chance to see her. And Raising Cane’s rolled out the red carpet for the star to celebrate the impending release of her new album, “Cloud 9.”

In fact, according to Whiskey Riff, the restaurant went full “Cloud 9,” decorating the restaurant in pink and sparkles. The singer reportedly greeted her fans by signing autographs, taking selfies and handing out Raising Cane’s gift cards. But she didn’t stop there. She also clocked in and served up chicken to folks at the drive-thru.
“Anytime I come here and drive through downtown or down Millage (Ave.), I’m just reminded that I used to be the sorority girl who would just make up songs in my sorority house and didn’t have anybody to listen to them at the time, really,” Moroney said during the appearance. “So to now … it’s just humbling to be back and anytime even when I announced, ‘beautiful things,’ we made an event out of it. I love seeing my fans face to face and getting to interact with them as much as I can cause I know that they’ve fueled this entire thing. I don’t get to play plays unless they show up and they certainly show up.

“When I started my career, one of my dream brands to work with was Cane’s,” she added. “So this really feels full circle.”
