Meet Lilibet, the California Princess: Running Wild in Pink Leggings and Bare Feet While Archie Mimics Prince Louis’s Looks.x

She may be seventh in line to the British throne, but Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet is every inch the California girl who loves running around barefoot in her beloved pink leggings.

Since returning to social media at the beginning of this year and launching her lifestyle brand, Meghan has been increasingly sharing glimpses of her children’s lives in Montecito.

And although the Duchess only shares pictures of her children from behind, fans are getting to know Lili’s distinctive look including her flowing auburn hair, which is usually falling loose around her shoulders.

It seems that like many children, she also has a favourite garment that she always wants to wear – namely her pink leggings, which she’s been pictured in multiple times.

She’s also inherited her mother’s love of going barefoot – even kicking off her shoes during a family trip to Disneyland to celebrate her birthday and on their most recent outing to the pumpkin patch, shared to Instagram over the weekend.

Lili’s relaxed style contrasts with her royal cousin Princess Charlotte who is usually seen in more formal attire – namely floral dresses, cashmere cardigans and bows in her neatly styled hair.

However, fans have noted that in Meghan’s latest video, Archie looked just like his cousin Prince Louis in a short-sleeved polo shirt and dark trousers.

Meghan put on quite a dressy display for the casual Halloween trip, sporting her brown $400 Anine Bing ‘Luca’ padded jacket, black skinny jeans and a pair of CO Leather black riding boots, which retail at $1,195.

The Duchess’s love of going barefoot in her home or a garden is well-documented, with the mother-of-two often preferring to go shoeless in her As Ever promo shots despite her enviable collection of stilettos.

Now it seems her daughter also prefers to avoid footwear, with all-pink outfits and no slippers or shoes becoming a go-to outfit for the youngster in the photos and videos shared by her mother online.

Earlier this month, Meghan revealed why she always goes barefoot to greet guests at her Montecito mansion during a book event in California, adding the act ‘demystifies’ her to people.

The Duchess also gushed about her ‘incredible’ daughter, Princess Lilibet, while chatting with close friend Courtney Adamo at Godmothers bookstore in Summerland.

During the conversation, which was livestreamed online, Meghan revealed her go-to move for making her guests feel comfortable was to open the door of her and Harry’s $29million home while ‘barefoot’ with an ‘apron on’.

The former Suits actress uploaded a sweet image earlier this month, showing her holding hands with Lilibet as the pair explored the grounds of their house together. The little one was dressed in an all-pink outfit but seemingly decided against slippers or shoes

Rosy leggings and a matching top were also sported by the Princess in a clip shared by Meghan which showed the youngster playing a board game with Serena Williams (pictured)

The Duchess said: ‘It demystifies. People walk in and go, “Oh, she’s in this with me.” And what are they drawn to? Your kitchen. They come right in, and suddenly everyone’s a little bit softened.’

At Thursday’s event, which was titled Compare Notes on Creating a Home That’s Filled With Joy’, Meghan also shared details of how she and Harry are raising their children.

She opened up about the parenting tips and techniques her children respond best to – including the ‘rose and thorn’ ritual that is a particular favourite of Lilibet’s.

The ‘rose and thorn’ exercise – sometimes referred to as ‘rose, bud, and thorn’ – helps children open up and reflect on their lives by sharing a positive experience (rose), difficult moment (thorn) and something they are looking forward to (bud).

Meghan said the activity can be particularly helpful when they only give ‘yes and no answers’.

‘Our daughter, she’s four and she’s a very strong personality and she’s incredible,’ Meghan said. ‘And now she’s in this moment where I say, “What’s your rose and your thorn?” And she goes, “My day was just a blast.”‘

Thursday’s event was organised at Godmother’s bookstore that is backed by Oprah Winfrey, who famously interviewed the Sussexes after they quit the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have close ties to Godmothers, with a photo of the pair at its grand opening in 2024 displayed prominently inside the bookshop.

Both Harry and Meghan’s books, including the prince’s 2023 memoir Spare and his wife’s children’s book The Bench, are also on sale in the ‘local authors’ section.

Meghan was invited to participate in the event by Courtney, with the pair having first crossed paths at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois back in 2001.
