LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — During Friday’s WNBA Finals post game press conference, following an Aces championship victory, Finals MVP A’ja Wilson announced the date for the celebration back here in Las Vegas.
After the team’s third championship win in Phoenix, A’ja Wilson said the parade would be held on Friday, October 17. Clark County officials confirmed the date to FOX5 as well.
“The County is prepared to support the Aces’ parade plans,” a spokesperson said.
The Aces swept the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 Finals, winning four games in a row in the first ever WNBA Finals best of seven series. The Finals round previously only held five games total, with a team crowned after winning three games.
It’s the Aces third title in four seasons. The team went from suffering the second largest loss in the league history when they played the Minnesota Lynx at Michelob Ultra Arena in the regular season. The Aces went on to win 17 games in a row after that loss.
The winning streak would ultimately get them to the Finals where they would take it all in stellar style. They faced the Seattle Storm in the first round and defeated the Indiana Fever in a nail-biting Game 5 semifinal.
All three of the Aces’ championship wins have happened while being on the road. In 2022, they won their first title in Connecticut, and a year later, in New York City, they’d go on to become back to back champions.
