The Kansas City Chiefs were hoping to get above .500 for the first time this season on Monday Night Football on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, that was not the case.
Instead, the Chiefs saw Trevor Lawrence make a late-game drive to win the game. Lawrence scored the game-winning touchdown on a botched play that saw him fall immediately after the snap after getting stepped on by one of his offensive linemen. He was able to get up and run in for an improbable touchdown.
While Kansas City had a chance to put a drive together, Patrick Mahomes was unable to get his team down the field.

It did not take long for fans to take to the comments section to criticize Jones for not hustling after Lawrence. There is good reason to be frustrated with him, as it does look like he could have been involved in the play at the goal line.
“Bro got paid for what,” one fan commented.
Another chimed in, “He’s been paid. He doesn’t care anymore.”
“Game on the line and your best defensive player is doing this,” a third comment read.
A fourth fan said, “He should be fined for lack of effort.”
“Chris Jones ain’t got that dawg in him no more,” a fifth fan wrote.
With the loss, Kansas City has dropped to 2-3 on the young season. So far, there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about the Chiefs. They don’t look anything like the yearly Super Bowl contender they have been for years.

There is still plenty of time for Andy Reid, Mahomes, and company to figure things out and get back on track, but these are the games Kansas City has consistently won. Lawrence and Jacksonville finding a way to pull out the win takes the sails out of the Chiefs following their two straight wins coming into Week 5.
Next up for Kansas City will be a Week 6 matchup at home against the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. That will be a very difficult game, but the Chiefs badly need to bounce back from the loss to the Jaguars.
