NEED TO KNOW
- King Charles’ enduring advocacy on behalf of the planet is the subject of an upcoming film titled Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision
- The King, 76, has the “fondest hope” that people will follow his lead and champion nature
- His philosophy of “Harmony” will be explained in the Prime Video documentary out in early 2026
The natural world needs help, and King Charles hopes that a new film will inspire others to pitch in.
A new documentary that will air around the globe is set to illustrate the thinking he has held close over decades of commitment to the natural world. Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision is to air exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide in early 2026 and explains Charles’ philosophy of harmony with the planet.
It also features him reflecting on his commitment as he views archival footage. Charles — who has championed environmental sustainability for around 50 years — said at the announcement of the film on Wednesday, Oct. 8, “Nature is our sustainer – we are a part of Nature. Therefore, what we do to her, we do to ourselves.”
“For much of my life I have sought to promote and encourage ways we can work with, rather than against Nature. In other words, to restore balance to our planet which is under such stress,” he said.
He continued, “Never has it been more important for the world to make a concerted effort to protect and prioritize our planet, and to restore our relationship with it,” noting, “It is therefore my fondest hope that this film may encourage a new audience to learn about the philosophy of Harmony – and perhaps inspire the same sense of determination it has given me to help build a more sustainable future.”
Director Nicolas Brown added, “This is a story of hope and resilience. People who watch this film will leave feeling uplifted and motivated. The King’s philosophy offers something for everyone. Mostly, he shows us the power of resilience – and how following your intuition can transform the world.”
Charles’ belief in a sustainable future is a philosophy adopted by his King’s Foundation. The charity runs his gardens at his country home, Highgrove House, and is headquartered at Dumfries House in Scotland, where sustainability, heritage skills and crafts are taught and celebrated. It is 35 years old this year.
“This film will, I hope, demonstrate just some of the remarkable work being done around the world to put Harmony into practice, from the forests of Guyana to sustainable communities in India – and, closer to home, through the work of my King’s Foundation at Dumfries House and Highgrove,” Charles added in his statement.
The King’s philosophy encourages people to see themselves as part of nature, not apart from nature, the Foundation says. Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision (the film’s working title) promises to utilize “a mix of stunning cinematography, unique interviews and fascinating storytelling” to explore the origins, evolution and scientific backing of the “Harmony” philosophy.
Kristina Murrin, chief executive of the King’s Foundation, said in a statement, “We are proud to have stood beside the King for the past 35 years of his Harmony journey, and it is both moving and inspiring to see that journey committed to film.”
Murrin added, “Our work spans many of The King’s passions, whether that be protecting traditional skills, teaching young people about nature and the outdoors, or building green towns and cities with sustainability at their core. It is gratifying to see this work represented on screen in Finding Harmony.”
Brown said that working on the film made him “aware of how important this story is.”
“Remarkably few people around the world know the full depth of the King’s lifelong battle to bring nature and humanity into harmony,” the director said. “Even today, His Majesty’s work with The King’s Foundation is transforming the world in so many inspiring ways.”
Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of film, said they were honored to bring Charles’ “pioneering environmental philosophy” to audience around the world. “Finding Harmony represents the culmination of the King’s lifelong dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship.”
Valenti said she hopes the film will “inspire viewers across the globe to consider their own relationship with the natural world.”
