Jelly Roll is celebrating his 41st birthday on Thursday, December 4, and he shared an inspirational message with his fans on Instagram.

While out for a run, the country music superstar whipped out his phone and recorded a video for social media.

“It’s my 41st birthday, y’all, and I’m not saying that because I want birthday praises. I’m saying it because I used to drink and do cocaine on my birthday. I used to do codeine and pills on my birthday. Now on my birthday? One of my best friends wakes me up and says, ‘let’s go for a f****** run, baby!’” Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, said.

“You didn’t enjoy your birthday this year? You can change it by next birthday, baby,” he continued.

Dozens of fans took to the comments section to praise Jelly Roll on just how far he’s come over the years — and many also thanked him for inspiring them.

Jelly Roll has had quite an impressive year. From winning two Grammy Awards to going on his first-ever tour in Europe, 40 was pretty great for the “Liar” singer. Not to mention, he’s also continued on his impressive weight loss journey, which has also been inspiring.
