Jelly Roll is giving back in an incredibly meaningful way.
In an October 14 vlog, the 40-year-old country megastar—who has been open about his past struggles with drug use—detailed his plan for building a free rehabilitation center for people battling addiction and mental health issues.
“I’m gonna develop a 100-acre rehabilitation campus…for free,” he revealed while speaking with friend and YouTuber Mike Majlak, who also struggled with substance abuse.
“Imagine drug addicts like us, like poor kids, like we were just f–king down, when life was kicking our a–. And now think about the resources that we have. They could’ve helped us so much in those moments,” the “Save Me” singer continued, in part.
Jelly Roll—whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord—further explained the specifics of his heartfelt vision, saying, “We’ll have a traditional 28-day, 12-step style, but then we’ll have intensive programs as well for therapy, mental health.”
He then talked about his plans for “guest weekenders,” adding, “Come in and spend the weekend with the boys. Leave the phone and get in the trenches with the guys and girls.”
Majlak, 40, was taken aback by the Grammy-nominated star’s touching plan.
“Is there anything you can’t do, bro?” he asked, before calling Jelly Roll a “multi-disciplined generational talent.”
“And honestly, watching you makes me wanna be better,” the internet star continued.
“Everything you do, everything you say is so impactful and meaningful,” he added, in part.
Jelly Roll replied, in part, “God is blessing the right people. It’s really cool, man.”
