If you think touring with a big country star is all work and no play, think again. Alexandra Kay, who toured with Jelly Roll in 2024, says he’s one of the most generous people she’s ever met.
From surprise gifts to renting out places like the Space Needle just for fun, Jelly knows how to take care of his friends and make every night on the road something special.
Speaking on Taste of Country Nights, Kay opened up about the generosity Jelly spread among his friends and crew during the Beautifully Broken Tour.
“Jelly Roll got us things every day throughout the entire tour,” she shared. Some of the standout gifts included practical and fun items. “I got a meat smoker, okay? I don’t even know how many Yeti coolers I got on that tour, but I have Yeti coolers for days,” Kay said.
And that was just the beginning.
“He always sends me a new pair of Hey Dudes, whenever he has a new pair of Hey Dudes come out.” It seems the country singer’s kindness went far beyond tangible gifts. Kay described how he would surprise the group with spontaneous night outs.
“Like, this man is crazy. I would literally be in bed, facemask on, makeup off, hair extensions off, like, I am asleep and all of a sudden, we get a call, ‘Hey, I rented out the Space Needle, come.’”
That’s right, the iconic Space Needle in Seattle, rented out just for them. “I’m in bed, and he would say, ‘C’mon, I rented out the Space Needle and we’re all gonna go to the top.’”
It wasn’t a one-time thing; it happened every single night. “We would get those calls like every night,” she explained, adding, “’I rented out the comedy club down the street, c’mon, open bar, everybody’s getting up and doing a stand-up set. I rented out a restaurant, this and that.’”
Kay always had something to look forward to after performing. As she puts it, “Every night there was something that he rented out” for his friends and co-workers on that tour.
While Jelly Roll is generous with those closest to him, he also extends that same kindness to his fans. During a show in Lafayette, Louisiana, Jelly paused mid-performance to give a newlywed couple in the audience an unforgettable wedding gift.
In the viral clip, the country singer spotted a couple holding a sign that read, “Just Married.” The pair had tied the knot earlier that day.
“Have you thought about where you wanna go on your honeymoon yet?” he asked from the stage. When the couple replied that they didn’t have plans, Jelly Roll didn’t hesitate to help.
“I tell you what, I’m gonna give you $10,000 to go,” he announced, sparking cheers and applause from the crowd. “The deal is all I want is, I want videos, baby!”
Whether you’re part of his tour crew or someone he’s just meeting in the crowd, Jelly Roll definitely has a way of making everyone feel seen.
