Injury Update 🚨 Bears CB Kyler Gordon Shares Whether He’ll Suit Up vs. the Commanders.tl

  • Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon stated he will play in the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders.
  • Gordon has missed the first four games of the season due to a hamstring injury.
  • His return is a significant boost for a Bears defense that has been impacted by multiple injuries.
  • Nick McCloud has been filling in at nickel cornerback during Gordon’s absence.

The Chicago Bears have dealt with injuries throughout the first month of the season, but there’s finally some good news on the way about cornerback Kyler Gordon.

Gordon has been battling a hamstring injury dating back to training camp. He returned to practice ahead of the Week 1 opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but he was ruled out after experiencing tightness before the game. He has missed the first four games of the season.

While Gordon was optimistic for a Week 4 return against the Las Vegas Raiders, he was once again sidelined. But he made his status clear for Monday night’s showdown against the Washington Commanders.

“I will be playing,” Gordon said, via Nicholas Moreano.

It will be a huge boost for a Bears defense that has dealt with injuries since the start of the season. Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson missed the entire summer with a groin injury, and despite a Week 2 return, he suffered a new groin injury that required surgery and will keep him sidelined until at least later this season. Linebacker T.J. Edwards has missed three of four games and cornerback Terell Smith was lost for the year to a knee injury back in preseason.

For Gordon, he’s been itching to get back on the field with his teammates and extend this two-game winning streak following a slow start to the season.

“I’ve been annoyed not playing,” Gordon said, via Courtney Cronin. “But like, mood been good just attacking rehab, but definitely excited to be out and that’s all I been looking forward to is playing with my guys and helping the team.”

Nick McCloud has been filling in for Gordon at nickel cornerback, but Gordon’s return should have a big impact as he’s one of the league’s best in the slot. And the Bears are going to need reinforcements when they face the Commanders in prime time.
