In a Candid Moment at Windsor Castle, Eugene Levy Reveals Why He Steered Clear of Harry and Meghan’s Drama, Focusing Instead on William’s Bold Vision for the Future of the Monarchy.x

Comedian and actor Eugene Levy has revealed that he made a deliberate choice not to ask Prince William about his estranged brother Prince Harry or Meghan Markle during their candid sit-down for The Reluctant Traveler on Apple TV+.

The 78-year-old Schitt’s Creek star joined the Prince of Wales, 43, for the October 3 episode titled “Living the Royal Life in the U.K.”, which saw William open up more than ever before about family life, the monarchy’s future, and the challenges of the past year. While many viewers noticed that Harry and Meghan were never mentioned, Levy has now explained that it wasn’t because the subject was off-limits — it was by choice.

In an interview with ITV News, Levy clarified, “I was not told I couldn’t ask anything, but it wasn’t really up to me to get into that. I had no interest in asking him about that, because it’s a very delicate issue — and certainly not mine to bring up.”

Levy added that he wanted the conversation to focus on William’s perspective as a husband, father, and future king, rather than revisiting the public family rift that exploded in 2020 when Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties. “There were other things I could lead the conversation to — things that might be interesting for him and for the world to hear,” Levy said.

The actor’s decision appears to have paid off. The interview, filmed at Windsor Castle, offered one of the most open portrayals of Prince William to date. Viewers saw the royal arrive on an electric scooter, share stories about his children, and speak tenderly about both Kate Middleton and King Charles III, who continue to recover from cancer.

At one point, William reflected on how the challenges of the past year had shifted his priorities. “It changes what’s important,” Levy observed later in a follow-up interview with CNN, adding, “He seemed to truly indicate that it altered his way of thinking.”

The pair also discussed William’s now-viral remark that “change is on my agenda,” which Levy interpreted as a sign of the Prince’s readiness to modernize the monarchy when his time comes. “My sense is that it might be something the world hasn’t seen before,” he said.

Prince William’s full episode of The Reluctant Traveler is now streaming on Apple TV+, offering royal watchers an unprecedented glimpse behind palace walls — without ever mentioning the couple everyone was waiting to hear about.
