Fall has arrived and with it several important updates including but not limited to: the wafting smell of pumpkin spice around every corner, society’s annual Gilmore Girls rewatch, and Sunday Night Football.
And it looks like none other than Carrie Underwood is back for another season performing the Sunday Night Football kickoff song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”
According to reports, Carrie earns $1 million per week (or $18 million per season) for her Sunday Night Football gig, which is truly out of this world.
“It’s just very glam. It’s always great, it’s always exciting. It’s always fun,” Carrie said in a recent statement. It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years.” She added that the fans are her favorite part of the experience, saying, “They’ll come up to me, like, on the street and be like, ‘Oh my gosh! I love Sunday night football. That’s my son’s favorite song. The Super Bowl is kind of home to NBC. It’s spectacular. It’s exciting.”
Meanwhile, Tripp Dixon (who is the creative director of Sunday Night Football) said a few years back that the song “sets the tone for the broadcast and pays tribute to the teams, star players and fans in a fun and dynamic way.”
Honestly, Carrie could do nothing but this all year and still be a millionaire, but obviously Sunday Night Football is just one of her sources of income.
