Bahamas – The sea roars. Smoke rises from the water. A wrecked helicopter drifts in the gray waves.

More than an hour ago, the world was stunned when the media reported:
Kanye West, the legendary rapper, controversial fashion designer, and North West, his beloved 11-year-old daughter, died after their private helicopter crashed off the coast of the Bahamas.

The information was confirmed by the US Coast Guard at 5:12 p.m. (local time).
“There are no signs of life… there is nothing left to save,” – a member of the rescue team said in tears.

According to information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Bell 430 helicopter carrying Kanye West and his daughter North West departed from Nassau to a private resort on the island of Eleuthera. They planned to have a short vacation before Kanye started his new tour.

Sixteen minutes after takeoff, the helicopter suddenly disappeared from radar.

A loud explosion was recorded by air traffic control.

Soon after, local fishermen saw a column of black smoke rising from the sea. A piece of the propeller was torn off and washed ashore.

“It sounded like artillery fire,” one fisherman recounted. “I ran over, but there was only the wreckage, bags floating… and blood.”

The crash site was quickly surrounded by media, security forces and fans.

A group of tourists at a nearby resort recorded a video clip showing a large fire on the sea, along with the sound of rescue sirens, helicopters hovering above and the screams of a woman believed to be a member of Kanye’s crew.

The first photos from the scene went viral. Among them, a piece of red cloth stained with blood, believed to be North’s jacket, caused a stir on social media.

It took the US rescue team more than 25 minutes to reach the exact coordinates. When they arrived, they found two motionless bodies – a black man in a black hoodie, and a long-haired girl, floating close together on a scorched life raft.

Doctors tried CPR in the sea. Portable defibrillators were used. Oxygen masks were fitted. But both of their hearts were no longer beating.

“This is the most painful moment of my career,” – the head of the emergency team said at a press conference. “We did everything. But… it was too late.”

At Nassau Medical Center, the ICU was completely sealed off. The two bodies were brought in through the back door.

Doctors tried to check one last time, but the monitor only showed a long, cold line.

7:02 p.m., Kanye West’s name was officially removed from the emergency records.

7:07 p.m., North West – the little princess who walked on the Balenciaga catwalk – was also confirmed dead.

Both bodies were covered with American flags when leaving the ICU room.

The whole world was devastated by each beat of the news.

Kim Kardashian, North’s mother, cried in the livestream video afterward, almost unable to speak.

Jay-Z wrote: “The world just lost a volcano – and a little star that didn’t get to shine brightest.”

The US President announced: “We will fly the flag at half-staff at the White House for 24 hours in memory of Kanye West and North West.”

Artists around the world canceled shows and observed a minute of silence.

At Times Square, more than 3,000 people gathered to light candles, hug each other and cry, despite the cold rain.

While the bodies of the two victims were being brought back by medical helicopter, a double incident occurred:
The second rescue helicopter – carrying crew members to identify the bodies – had engine trouble, forced to make an emergency landing at sea, causing panic and causing a technician to fall into the water and go missing.

Authorities believe that sudden bad weather conditions caused both crashes. However, many fans are spreading conspiracy theories, questioning the abnormality of the “left turn” during the flight

Tonight, at the cathedral in Calabasas, California, a special vigil will be held for Kanye and North.

A framed portrait of father and son, covered in white flowers and flickering candles, has been set up in downtown Los Angeles.

“Ye is gone, but his voice will live on,” – one young fan wrote on a memorial board.

“North… you deserved to live longer. We owe you a future.”

The night sky in the Bahamas remains dark. But in the hearts of millions of fans – the candlelight never goes out.
