Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy spoke to reporters after Sunday’s game to reflect on his mindset during injury recovery ahead of Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens.
“When I got hurt, I was trying to get back in immediately. I just couldn’t lift my arm. When I got back to KC, I was trying to get back in as fast as possible,” said Worthy, “The coaches know how I am as a player. They probably held me back from myself more than anything. I was trying to get back out there at the same time. I never had any worries about coming back.”

The former Texas standout first hauled in a 37-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes with 1:05 left in the first quarter. He took the hits with little effect on his shoulder as he described his frustration in recent weeks dealing with the injury.
“I have had injuries before, but you would never know because I always play through them,” said Worthy, “It’s been super tough watching. I have never missed a football game in my life. That was my first time ever sitting on the sidelines watching the game.”
Worthy hauled in five catches for 83 yards, averaging 16.6 yards per catch, en route to the team’s victory on Sunday. His team-high 38 rushing yards marked a career-high for him
