George Strait sees 'overwhelming demand,' adds second Lubbock show at Jones AT&T Stadium

A little more than a week since announcing his first Texas show of 2026, nicknamed Strait to Texas Tech, the country superstar has added a second date because of “overwhelming demand,” according to a post today on Strait’s social media sites. The new concert date is April 24, the day before the original concert date.

Presales are underway for both concerts right now at texastech.com, with seats ranging from about $100 to more than $3,700. Sign up for a password for the presale here. Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday.

The site selling tickets currently lists the Saturday concert as “almost gone” and the newly announced show as “going fast.”

Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook previously were announced as opening acts for the April 25 concert. On April 24, the openers will be Zach Top, a country singer from the Seattle area, and young Austin singer Dylan Gossett.

Aside from a small benefit concert in July, which raised more than $6 million for Hill Country flood relief, and a military gala, Strait’s last big Texas concert was at Kyle Field in College Station in June 2024.

That concert drew 110,905 fans, which broke a longstanding record for ticketed attendance at a single concert in the United States. (The record fell a little more than a year later to singer-songwriter Zach Bryan). The Lubbock stadium has a capacity of about 60,000 for football games.
