Another Monday night marks another doubleheader in the NFL.
Week 6 concludes with a “Monday Night Football” doubleheader that starts with the Atlanta Falcons (2-2) hosting the Buffalo Bills (4-1) at 7:15 p.m. That’s followed an hour later when the Washington Commanders (3-2) welcome in the Chicago Bears (2-2) at 8:15 p.m. to finish off the week.
The Bills were the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL before they were upset by the Patriots 23-20 in Week 5. Both the Falcons and Bears sit at .500 and are coming off of a bye last week. With the Giants pulling off a massive upset over the Eagles on Thursday night, the Commanders could pull into a tie for the NFC East division lead with Philadelphia with a win versus Chicago at home.

Tonight marks the third of four “Monday Night Football” doubleheaders during the NFL regular season, with the final one coming next week in Week 7 when the Detroit Lions face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions take on the Houston Texans.
Here’s everything you need to know about tonight’s Week 6 “Monday Night Football” doubleheader and more:
Why are there two Monday Night Football games today?
The answer has to do with the recent TV deal for the NFL.
Four years ago, the NFL finalized a new broadcast agreement in 2021 which in turn came with ESPN and ABC earning the rights to televise 23 games per season starting the following year in 2022.
Given there’s only 18 weeks (17 games) every season, this means that the broadcasting giant could use multiple weeks out of the year to host “Monday Night Football” games on both ESPN and ABC.
This gives football fans an extra game on Monday night four times during the season, with each instance coming before Halloween as there were two Monday Night Football games already in Week 2 and Week 4, with two more remaining over the next two weeks during Week 6 and Week 7.
Monday Night Football in Week 7 will feature the doubleheader layout of a game starting at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. while the matchup this upcoming Monday night in Week 6 will be a staggered start time, beginning with the first game starting at 7:15 p.m. followed by the second game getting underway an hour later at 8:15 p.m.

Are Jets, Giants on Monday Night Football doubleheader schedule in 2025?
The Jets already appeared on the Week 4 MNF doubleheader where they came up short in a 27-21 loss to the Dolphins. The Giants won’t be a part of any Monday Night Football doubleheader in 2025. They only play once on Monday night this season, which comes in Week 12 when the Giants head to Foxboro to take on the Patriots on Dec. 1 at 8:15 p.m. ET.
