Guy Penrod was born on 2 July 1963 in Abilene, Texas, to Joseph Loren Penrod and Barbara Josie Penrod. He grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico, where his father Joseph served as the head pastor of Temple Baptist Church. It was there that Penrod learned music and singing. For education, he enrolled at Hobbs High School and graduated from Liberty University in Virginia. He is 58 years old as of 2021.
