Meghan Markle and Prince Harry found themselves rooting for opposing teams during the 2025 World Series.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing her kiss the Duke, 41, in celebration after the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 during Game 7 of the World Series.
Meghan was ecstatic that her home team won, as she then hugged her friend Kelly Mckee Zajfen. Harry’s allegiance appeared to be elsewhere as the Instagram video showed he stayed seated in their home theater amid the celebrations.
Zajfen wrote on her own Instagram Stories moments later, “Best game ever!!! Sorry H your team didn’t win but mine diiiiiiiiid. @dodgers I LOVE YOU!!!!”
The series of celebratory posts came four days after Meghan and Harry were seen donning blue Dodgers hats while watching Game 4 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium.
After the MLB shared a video of their arrival on X, the two cheered on Meghan’s home team from the front row.
Later that night, Meghan documented their “date night” by posting a video of Harry rooting for the Dodgers on her Instagram Stories. The couple also indulged in stadium food, with Meghan covering a laugh as she ate a signature “Dodger Dog.”

Following their game day appearance, Harry received some backlash for supporting an American team, rather than a Canadian one, due to his royal connection to the Commonwealth.
While the couple call California home since relocating to Meghan’s home state after stepping back as senior members of the royal family in 2020, Harry has now made it clear who he’s truly rooting for.
The couple has a strong connection to both cities in the 2025 World Series. For Meghan’s part, Los Angeles is her hometown. However, she also spent a few years living in Toronto while filming Suits.

In addition to having been able to call both cities home, she is also distantly related to the Dodgers’ all-star shortstop, Mookie Betts (real name Markus Lynn Betts). She even took a moment to point out Mookie’s Golden Glove award during her and Harry’s behind-the-scenes tour of Dodger Stadium on her Instagram Stories.
“That’s not something you expect to hear, but it’s interesting,” Mookie told the Boston Globe in 2018 after discovering their connection. “I know from family stories that our relatives were from Virginia and settled in Alabama. There were Betts all over that area.”
