Daniel Caesar visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (Nov. 5) to perform his new track “Who Knows.”
Opting for a more laidback look — a blue track jacket, burgundy beanie, and light gray sweatpants — Caesar delivered a hair-raising performance of the contemplative track.
Accompanied by a four-man band, Caesar, holding an acoustic guitar, sang, “Lately, I’ve been thinking that perhaps I am a coward / Hiding in a disguise of an ever-giving flower / Incompetent steward of all of that sweet, sweet power.”
“Who Knows” is lifted from Caesar’s fourth album, Son of Spergy, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. Caesar co-produced the introspective track with longtime collaborator Matthew Burnett.

Released Oct. 24 via Hollace Inc./Republic Records, Son of Spergy also opened at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, earning Caesar his first top 5 album on the coveted list.
The album includes the singles “Have A Baby (With Me),” “Call On Me” and “Moon” featuring Bon Iver, with additional collaborations with Sampha, Blood Orange, Yebba, 646yf4t, and Norwill Simmonds, Caesar’s father, whose nickname inspired the title.
Speaking on Son of Spergy, Caesar shared, “I have a lot of respect for my dad, and I hold him in high regard. The album is about me realizing that I am exactly like him. In that sense, it’s about having patience, respect, and admiration for myself.”
Son of Spergy is the follow-up to Caesar’s 2024 album, Never Enough.
