The musician shared the news in a statement released on X.

“It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year’s concert performances will not be able to happen,” Johnson said. “While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my eardrum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery. The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time.”

Johnson had six concerts remaining this year, all in arenas or music festivals, including an Oct. 18 show in Pittsburgh.

“Please stay tuned for an email from your ticket providers for further details,” a message on Johnson’s website now reads regarding the canceled tour dates.

Johnson shared a video on Tuesday after his surgery, where he updated fans on his condition.

“I’m home from surgery, it went well, as best as they could have expected,” he said.

The musician was nominated for four Country Music Association awards this year, including Entertainer of the Year. But it was unclear whether he would be able to attend the Nov. 19 ceremony due to his surgery.

For now, Johnson’s next scheduled concert date is Feb. 14, 2026 at KFC YUM! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He is also slated to headline the Stagecoach Festival from April 24 to 26, alongside Lainey Wilson and Post Malone.

Johnson is known for the songs “’Til You Can’t,” “Me and My Kind” and “Diamond in My Pocket.” His album “Leather” won Album of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
