Tennessee football has a tall task ahead of it as it prepares to go into Bryant-Denny Stadium with hopes of upsetting Alabama.

The No. 6 Crimson Tide is a big favorite, 9.5 points, but that doesn’t mean much based on the recent results in this rivalry.

Tennessee has won two out of the last three, but each of those wins came within the confines of Neyland Stadium. It has been more than two decades since Tennessee has walked out of Tuscaloosa as the victors.

College Gameday largely agrees with Las Vegas that Alabama will handle business and beat the Vols at home, but Gameday’s guest picker, Jelly Roll, went against the tide and picked Tennessee to win in upset fashion.

“I have dreamed of the day I could meet the legendary coach Nick Saban so I could look him in his eye and tell him that my family respected and admired you just as much as they hated you because my father was a Vanderbilt fan and the rest of that house bled orange in Tuscaloosa,” Jelly Roll said, as he made his pick.

“I stand here today saying the Tennessee Vols pull the upset in Tuscaloosa, baby. It’s gonna happen. Joey Aguilar is coming in on fire. The Tennessee Vols are ready. Heupel is not going to let us down, it feels like the late 90s in Knoxville, baby.”

The rest of the Gameday crew unsurprisingly picked Alabama to win and cover the points spread over Tennessee as they expect Tennessee to lose another road game in this series.

Jelly Roll lives in Nashville but has made his way to Rocky Top several times in recent years to support the Vols, including Tennessee’s home win over Arkansas last week.

Tennessee is set to face Alabama in one of the few road night games they will play to finish the season. The game is set to kick off at 7:30 PM ET on ABC.
