In 2025, Reese averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. During the course of the season, she became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 points and 500 rebounds in a career. Her rebounding average led the league for the second straight season.
Amid her personal success, the Sky struggled to a 10-34 record and tensions grew toward the end of the season. After the All-Star break, Reese only played nine games. She made headlines by publicly criticizing the team in a Chicago Tribune interview, resulting in a suspension and Reese skipping her exit interview after the season.

But when Reese made the historic announcement that she will become the first professional athlete to walk on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway, the Sky had something to say about it.
“Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL. I’m finally getting my wings,” Reese wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on, heels ready…Catch me on the runway.”
The official account of the Chicago Sky offered a two-word response: “killed this.”
The runway show will take place on Oct. 15. Reese attended the big return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2024 — highlighted by Cher, Lisa and Tyla — but this time she will be there as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and official brand partner.
“It’s such a surreal and full-circle moment,” Reese told People in an exclusive interview. “Just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for.”
Reese’s basketball plans have not yet been revealed for the offseason — she played in Unrivaled last year — but her team’s supportive response to the off-court news on social media appeared to show that they are getting back in alignment with their star player.
