Jelly Roll Jokes He Can Finally Do This After 200-Pound Weight Loss
Bunnie Xo needs a favor from Jelly Roll’s fans: Careful with your words.
After one user said her husband is “so hot” after his 180-pound weight loss, the Dumb Blonde podcast host clapped back with a gentle reminder.
“He’s always had the same heart,” she said in a Sept. 28 TikTok video. “He’s always had the same soul. I think the most appropriate thing here to say is that he looks so much more healthier now that he’s lost weight.”
“We gotta stop living in a Shallow Hal world, guys,” she continued referencing Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow’s 2001 romcom. “’Cause you know what, you might miss out on the best love of your life by judging somebody by their weight.”
Bunnie captioned the video, “He’s been that dude. I’ll forever be cheering him on no matter what weight he is.”
And she’s been along for the ride ever since the country singer kicked off his health journey.
“In 2015 I weighed over 500 lbs. not sure how much , the Dr’s scale only weighed to 500 lbs,” Jelly Roll (born Jason Bradley DeFord) wrote on Instagram in 2018. “They suggested I go to a meat processor or truck stop to get my actual weight. It was the one of the most embarrassing days of my life.”
“I’ve been obese since I was a small child,” he continued. “All I’ve ever known was being fat , and I’m f–king miserable. I wanna sky dive , bungee jump, ride a bull, parasail , ride roller coasters, I want to LIVE a normal life and have a normal relationship with food.”

I was 357 pounds this morning,” the 40-year-old told Pat McAfee during his Big Night Aht live show in April. “I’m gonna lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!”
Another milestone came Sept. 15. “I can fit in Louis Vuitton now,” Jelly Roll said on Instagram, sharing photos of himself in Vatican City, where he performed. “Pray for my bank account.”
And to Bunnie, her husband is always taking her to church, as she commented, “The hunkiest hunk of them all.”
And he’s not alone. Read on for more stars who have been candid about their weight loss journeys…
It seems as if every time Jelly Roll hits a red carpet, he’s down a sizable slice of weight.
“I started at 540 pounds and I was 357 pounds this morning,” the singer born Jason DeFord told Pat McAfee in April 2025 during the ESPN host’s Big Night Aht live show. “I’m gonna lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!”
The 6-foot-1 artist admittedly needed to overhaul his relationship with food to get where he wanted to go. “I’ve always said that I believe obesity is directly connected to mental health,” he explained on an October 2024 episode of On Purpose With Jay Shetty. “I know how easy it is for people to go, ‘Just quit eatin’ so much, just work out, it’s so easy!’ I wish I looked at food that way.”
Weight was still “the mountain” in front of him, Jelly Roll noted, but his lifestyle changes were working.
“I’m learning, I’m being very diligent with it,” he said. “I’m taking it serious, I’m drinking a bunch of water, I’m cold plunging, I’m eating right, I’m doing good.”
