📰 NEWS FLASH: Bryan Kohberger’s latest prison gripe over banana quality ignites a surreal backlash that no one saw coming ⚡.qn

Cold-blooded killer Bryan Kohberger is truly going bananas over his prison food.

The quadruple murderer is adding yet another complaint about his life at the maximum-security Idaho prison where he’s serving a life term — whinging about the una-peel-ing bananas he’s being given.

Kohberger, who turned 31 behind bars last week, has been constantly complaining about conditions at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution, where he’s been housed for four months since he was sentenced to four lifetimes in prison after he copped to the quadruple homicide of University of Idaho students in 2022.

Now “he’s complaining about the type of bananas he’s being served,” Chris McDonough, a retired homicide detective who works at the Cold Case Foundation, told the Daily Mail.

Bryan Kohberger’s latest prison complaint is about the types of bananas he’s receiving.

“They’re not the kind that he likes,” McDonough said. “I’m not sure if that means they may have bruises on them and he doesn’t like that or if there is a particular type of banana that he likes. But he’s complaining about the food he’s getting.”

“You can’t make this stuff up, right? The guy is a quadruple killer and he’s complaining about his bananas not being the type that he likes.”

Kohberger has made at least five formal complaints since he arrived at the Kuna, Idaho penitentiary, so the prison staff hasn’t put much stock into his latest grouse, McDonough explained.

“The prison is saying well, deal with it,” the ex-cop said.

The former criminology PhD student has apparently not been adjusting well to the clink and requested to be relocated to another cell when his fellow inmates launched a relentless campaign of taunts when he arrived in August.

The neighbors would take turns yelling into the vents to his room at all hours of the day and Kohberger whined to staff that he wasn’t able to sleep, McDonough said at the time.

And soon after his complaint about the harassment, Kohberger filed another grievance saying he was being threatened with sexual abuse.

In an Aug. 4 letter, Kohberger claimed an inmate said he would “bitch f–k” him and another said “the only a– we’ll be eating is Kohberger’s.”

Kohberger went before a panel of three during an Aug. 12 housing placement hearing and it was determined that he should remain separate from the general population “for the protection of staff and residents, as well as for his protection,” the Idaho Statesman reported at the time.

He objected to “the type of cell that he’s in, the size of the cell and where it’s located,” McDonough said.

McDonough, who during his career specialized in understanding predatory behaviors, said Kohberger thinks he’s earned notoriety for his crimes that entitles him to special treatment in the slammer — which means his griping may not end any time soon.

Kohberger is “going to keep pushing the envelope and pushing the boundaries as far as he can get them,” McDonough said.

“It’s about power and control,” the retired detective said. “He was a nobody until he murdered four people… he was irrelevant to the world.”

“And now he’s Bryan Kohberger who has slaughtered four people. And, because he didn’t have to stand up in court and tell the world how brutal these crimes were, he holds the cards. And he’s trying to leverage that,” McDonough said of the perverse thinking.

Kohberger in July took a surprise plea deal, admitting to slaying Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin and Madison Mogen on Nov. 13, 2022 while they were sleeping in their off-campus house in Moscow.

The prosecution agreement came just weeks before his high-profile trial was slated to kick off and meant he skirted the possibility of receiving the death penalty.
