Bruce Willis has lost his joy of life and his ability to communicate due to frontotemporal dementia, since March 2022.
Glenn Gordon Caron, creator of the sitcom Moonlighting, told The Post on October 10 that he visits the Die Hard actor once a month after Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia. Caron said he always tries to talk and confide in the artist.
According to Caron, the disease has completely changed Willis’s life. Before he got sick, the actor always smiled, enjoyed and tried to live life to the fullest. The actor loved to read books, but now Willis cannot read. “He is still Bruce Willis but his joy of life is gone,” Caron said.
Since being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, Willis’ wife – Emma Heming – has been updating many images of the movie star on social media. In late September, on the Today program, Emma said she was under a lot of pressure, unable to guess whether her husband knew about her health condition or not.

According to Variety, frontotemporal dementia is detected earlier than other dementias. It causes personality changes, difficulty speaking or affects the patient’s mobility.
Willis announced his retirement at the end of March 2022 due to aphasia – a condition that causes the loss of the ability to communicate normally. In recent years, the artist has starred in many small projects, usually DVD-ordered films, not shown in theaters. In February 2022, the Golden Raspberry Awards created a separate category to mock Willis’s bad projects in the past year. However, the organizers canceled the category after learning about his health condition.
Bruce Willis, 68, is a German-American actor. He became famous after a series of romantic comedies in the 1980s such as Moonlighting and Hudson Hawk. The actor currently lives with his second wife – Emma Heming – and two daughters Mabel (11 years old) and Evelyn (nine years old). The artist also received encouragement from his ex-wife Demi Moore and their three children – Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. They often visit and reunite on special occasions.
