PHOENIX, ARIZONA – AUGUST 03: Rep Jasmine Crockett speaks during the Won’t Back Down event at The Van Buren on August 03, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona.

WASHINGTON (TNDD) — Democratic Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett backpedaled Wednesday on a claim where she said Republicans took money from disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Recently, Crockett claimed that she found evidence that showed that Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin and other Republicans got donations from Epstein.
On Wednesday night, she backtracked and said she didn’t mean “that” Jeffrey Epstein.
“Listen, I never said that it was that Jeffrey Epstein,” Crockett said during an interview with “The Source” host Kaitlin Collins on Wednesday evening.
“Just so that people understand, when you make a donation, your picture is not there,” she continued, according to the New York Post.

“And because they decided to spring this on us, in real time, I wanted the Republicans to think about what could potentially happen, because I knew that they didn’t even try to go through the [Federal Election Commission].”
Zeldin responded to Crockett’s allegation that he took money from disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, and said it was a different Epstein who is a physician.
“Yes Crockett, a physician named Dr. Jeffrey Epstein (who is a totally different person than the other Jeffrey Epstein) donated to a prior campaign of mine,” he wrote on X.
On Wednesday night, President Donald Trump announced via TRUTH Social that he signed a bill to release the Epstein files that the Department of Justice has.
Epstein died in prison in 2019 as he was waiting for a trial on sex trafficking charges of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
